This gorgeous mountain Lodge and hotel in Sognefjorden, Norway is designed by London architects, Haptic. It is my ‘Grand Designs’ dream, featuring a cinema, spa and games room buried in to the rocks. Nice start.
The hotel actually consists of 5 buildings encasing a central courtyard and featuring a lounge, kitchen and library in each with a different view of the nearby forrest or fjord. These views are framed by what has been visualised quite beautifully as seamless glazed windows from floor to ceilings. Glazing also running in to and out of cut away corners of the buildings which looks ultra cool. Be interesting to see how that is detailed!
Natural materials such as timber cladding and raw stone are used, as expected in such a building considering its surroundings.
I look forward to seeing the finished hotel…
